Discussion two peers 400 work count in each

1. Respond in the spirit of helpfulness and respect.

2. The best response are ones that are observational; they point directly to the writing in a specific way and observe something without making a judgment.  Share observations of what you notice in the writer’s text, but also share observations you notice of what occurs inside of you as you read the writer's text.

3. You need not respond in the role of the teacher or fixer of their writing.  Respond as a fellow writer and as a reader.

4. Look to be constructive. Ask meaningful questions of the peer. For instance, asking a "What would you say to ______?" sort of question elicits a critical response. Avoid just being the cheerleader: "Great post. I loved it. Thank you. Good luck."

5. Offer research and resources. Some of the best peer replies actually go out and share a link or a source from the Keiser e-Library databases with the other person.

1- Topic: Better pay scale is the highest level of motivation compared to other rewards.

I believe this will be quite the interesting topic to do for business management. I know how I feel on the topic from my own personal experience. Therefore, it will be interesting to research other opinions on the matter.

The first journal I discovered dealt with work, motivation, and personal characteristics of employees of China. Not the US but has similar results. Every class level participated in the questionnaire that was the method of study. Personal characteristics was the first part of the questionnaire. Respondents were asked for their gender, age, educational level, working experience, marital status, personality, and income. Motivation factors was the second area in question. The variables of motivation factors were measured by a question: how often the motivation factors motivate employees work hard and a seven-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (never) to 7 (always). Third was work motivation. A total of 15 items, which were adopted from the Job Diagnostic Survey developed by Hackman and Oldham, were used to measure of the variable of work motivation. Good pay is the most important motivator for employees in China. Employees’ work motivation is affected by their personal characteristics. Every individual has their own characteristics, values, and beliefs too. This source was really useful for standing the argument above, while also showing the many other factors motivating employees (Yang, 2011).

The next source I found shows what motivates people over money. Mainly power rewards. Power rewards are best described as rewards that foster the desired outcomes of the organization, make people feel good about past and current accomplishments, and then energize them to achieve even more. They also work synergistically with intrinsic motivation and do things in more cost-efficient ways. These types of rewards are more familiar in employees who take a large amount of pride in their work. The article then goes on to talk about why most rewards ‘fail’. Factors that could fall into the #1 spot, but companies often lack in these areas, eventually leading to unhappy employees or them quitting (Spitzer, 1996).

There is definitely more to discover on this topic, I will have to find more sources. I have a feeling there can be a lot more information to discover.
