Read Instructions Carefully

This is a discussion form that is mandatory part of this course.  The idea is to create collaboration amongst your cohort and stimulate intellectual conversations.  The instructions are as follows.

1. You are to make four (3) post each week. (Initial post then two responses to your classmates.)

2. Your initial post (first post) is due Wednesday of each week.

3. Your initial post MUST be at least 250 words and contain at least two scholarly references 

4. You must respond at least two (2) times to your colleagues post.  Your follow-up (Second, Third Post) must be at least (150 words and contain at least two scholarly references that are different from your initial (250 word) post.

5.  All of your post CANNOT all be on the same day.  Thus, you must post on at least two seperate day in a week. 

Discussion Question:

Your manager congratulates you for a brilliant suggestion and hints at a promotion. Your employee gave you the idea. Do you mention this to the manager? Your manager is upset because the sales forecast you gave has errors. You delegated the forecast to one of your sales reps. Do you tell her?

Psychosocial Crises of Late Adulthood and Elderhood Discussion

As individuals approach later adulthood and elderhood, they begin to accept the terminations of old roles and embrace the emergence of new roles, including coming to terms with the concept of death and facing issues related to death. This involves the psychosocial crisis of integrity versus despair (older adults) and immortality and extinction (elderhood). Draw on your Counseling Individuals Through the Lifespan textbook readings (specifically Chapters 12 and 13) to complete the following:

· Assess the challenges and rewards for counselors working with individuals in this stage of life.

· Discuss some of the characteristic challenges present in the psychosocial crisis in these stages of development.

· Describe how your family of origin views the process of caring for the elderly within your family and views the process of death. For this portion of your post, begin a separate paragraph, and feel free to respond to this aspect in the first person.

Did you view conflict as a negative factor in a relationship?
