· As the founding leader of the newly merged Education Technology team will set the culture, brand and outcomes for the new team

· Implements and progress monitors the 3-year strategy for Data Systems through management of the Data Architect, Manager of Data Systems and Coordinator of Data Systems

· Develops, implements and progress monitors a strategy for classroom facing technology (hardware and network) and manages tech team to realize the vision including Manager of Technology and Technology Associate

· Establishes proactive relationships with DPS service partners in data and technology

· Drives project management for continuous improvement of education technology functions in support of organizational vision

Systems Leadership

· Data Hub & Warehouse Strategy: Determines strategy for Data Hub and Data Warehouse and oversees execution by Data Architect

· Dashboard Development & Ad Hoc Reporting: Determines strategy for choosing between automatic and ad hoc processes and oversees implementation or resources for reporting

· Education Hardware: Oversee asset inventory, specifications, purchasing, maintenance and recycling of hardware

· Education Software: Oversee purchasing and rostering strategy of software including core data systems (Infinite Campus, Clever, Illuminate), edtech software, Gsuite and Microsoft Office products

· IT Support: Sets the strategy and key outcomes for tech support of students and staff 

· Documentation: Determines the strategy for clear documentation to support organizational edtech policies and procedures and holds team accountable to consistently updating documentation

· Vendor Liaison: Oversees vendor services, provides feedback to vendors and identifies opportunities to improve vendor contracts

· Network & Phones: Oversees maintenance of network and phone infrastructure and configuration

· Data Quality: Facilitates quarterly After Action Reviews with team focused on improving data quality in core systems (i.e., InfiniteCampus)

· Security: Determines strategy for network security system for all servers and hardware, web and mail systems and hardware and software.

· Compliance: Oversees compliance for technical requirements for all online assessment implementation and ensures compliance with all XYZ State technology policies and procedures and federal/state school technology regulations.

· Budget & Resource Allocation: Recommends allocation of resources (time and money) to achieve strategic data outcomes and coordinates progress monitoring of school budget spend by edtech team

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications 

· Bachelor's Degree required;

· 6+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of experience managing a team

· Experience managing network systems and 1:1 student device programs

· Experience with agile development methodologies

· Familiarity with data warehousing and data reporting

· Experience with data and network security

· Experience in mapping short- and long-term operations strategy for schools or other nonprofit organizations

· Education Technology Specialist or Instructional Technology Specialist CDE endorsement preferred

· Experience coaching others to expand their capacity and meet organizational priorities

· Adept at thinking strategically, translating plans into action, and exhibiting excellent judgment

· Detail oriented with exceptionally strong follow-up and follow-through skills

· Unquestioned integrity and commitment to XYZ State’s mission and values, including a strong commitment to the belief that all children can learn and deserve access to an excellent public education

· Naturally and readily assumes responsibility to fix problems and create improvements
