Please Answer The Following Questions- Will Be Used In A Power Point Presentation
STATISTICAL PARAMETERS
A statistical parameter is a number that is obtained from the data of a statistical distribution.
The statistical parameters are used to synthesize the information given by a table or by a graph.
Types of statistical parameters
There are three types of statistical parameters:
1. centralization.
2. Position
3. Dispersion.
Centralization measures
They tell us around what value (center) the data is distributed.
The centralization measures are:
Arithmetic average
The average is the average value of the distribution.
Median
The median is the score of the scale that separates the upper half of the distribution and the lower half, that is, it divides the data series into two equal parts.
Mode
Mode is the most repeated value in a distribution.
Position measures
Position measurements divide a set of data into groups with the same number of individuals.
To calculate the position measurements, it is necessary that the data be ordered from least to greatest.
The position measurements are:
Quartiles
The quartiles divide the data series into four equal parts.
Deciles
The deciles divide the data series into ten equal parts.
Percentiles
The percentiles divide the data series into one hundred equal parts.
Measures of dispersion
Dispersion measures tell us how far the values of the distribution move away from the center.
The dispersion measures are:
Range
The range is the difference between the largest and the least of the data of a statistical distribution.
Mean deviation
The average deviation is the arithmetic mean of the absolute values of the deviations from the mean.
Variance
The variance is the arithmetic mean of the square of the deviations from the mean.
Typical deviation
The standard deviation is the square root of the variance.
