Homework 8

Directions:

The final proposal must incorporate all of the suggestions/corrections that were made by your instructor in reviewing the prior sections (logic model, introduction, and methods).  The complete proposal should be edited for length, coherence, and continuity.  This should look like one single document, not separate assignments. The total paper should be approximately 8-10 pages, not to exceed 12 pages (page count does not include the title page, references, and appendix). The paper must be double spaced with 12-point font and 1” margins, using APA 7th edition style guidelines. This is worth 15 points.

  On the cover page, include your research title (be creative in coming up with one), name, and class information

  Cover page should have a running head and page #. All pages should be numbered with a header (see APA guidelines)

  Reference pages (in APA style) should be at the end of the paper (Note that the cover page and references do not count in your page count)

  Appendixes (include the logic model in this section). The appendix is added after the reference page (if you create your own measures include this document in the appendix)

  Include all of the sections previously completed: Title Page, Introduction/Literature Review, Methods Section, New Section below (data plan, limitations, and implications), References, Appendix

 

Create a Data Analysis Plan [4 points]

  Briefly (in a short paragraph; ~ ½ page ) describe how you would analyze your data (review SOW 5404 slides). Explain what you would be looking for (what would you be hoping to find?) Include specific types of statistics you could use (refer to SOW 5404 test book and slides).

  Include the header, “ Data Analysis Plan ” ( align left of page, in bold ) in the body of the paper after the Methods section (after procedures)

 

Next, create a header titled, Conclusion (center of page, in bold) [3 points]

  This section should be ~1 page long

  Include study limitations, issues with generalizability, threats to internal validity (see slides online) 1 point 

  Based on your limitations, provide a few recommendations for future research (what could you do in the future to improve the study, or other ideas/questions that may be worth exploring) 1 point 

  **Include a few points on the benefits of your proposed study, what is the implication to the field of social work (how will your research impact clinical practice, policy, and/or future research); answer the “so what” question, which is: what will your proposal lead to, what’s the impact your hoping to see as a result of your proposal ** 1 point 

 

The combined integrated sections is worth 8 points (5 points for integration of other sections + 3 points for APA/grammar/style, etc).  The total point value for the entire assignment is 15 points.
