Technological Expertise
Amanda’s technological expertise is primarily good, which enables her to tackle daily work using her computer and iPhone. Most of the time in the field, she finds her clients by visiting different social media pages using her devices and communicating with consumers. She does not have any advanced knowledge technically of how system security features work and requires support and guidance in maintaining privacy in her computing devices. Thus, she is internet savvy and not privacy savvy.
Amanda has tried using some internet searches to find how best to boost privacy online but does not find the solutions required through the available privacy tools. Thus, she requires training in case any privacy tool is recommended to be effectively used.
One of the main challenges for Amanda has been that she is always in the field and away from the main company’s network, which exposes her to using different network systems than other members of the organization. Although provided internet by the organization tends to use another existing internet such as free WIFI in libraries and stores while meeting consumers. That makes her vulnerable when communicating with the host organization to control security and jeopardize the entire security system.
User Needs
Amanda works in the corporate world and interacts with many people and organizations through her sales representative. Amanda has been working for many years, utilizing social media as a form of marketing and linking through many websites to attract many consumers. She is concerned about her data and organizational data online as many of the websites require saving cookies and developing customized adverts for each consumer associate on her devices. Since Amanda sometimes uses her devices for work, although she has a work computer, thus, she needs to remain untracked in any of her devices to develop the required confidentiality of data and integrity.
Amanda also needs the necessary support to maintain different profiles on her social media between work and personal data while maintaining privacy from third parties and phishing attacks on the internet. Customization of the work computer to only connect to the organizational network is required to support the shift to strong user behavior online.
User Behavior
Amanda has set all her devices to have an auto-recovery of password which means any access to her laptop gives access to all her information, including personal banking details and organizational data, through the remembering password feature. Amanda is concerned anytime she gets personalized adverts, as that means that her personal information can be accessed to generate that data, and she does not respond to any of the emails generated. The concerns are mainly deep when connecting to different websites and required to accept some of the cookies where most websites do not agree to continued use after declining use. Thus, she opts to continue using despite her privacy concerns and later deletes the cookies developed.
