The Teamsters are America’s largest, most influential labor union. Their core industry divisions are package division, freight division, warehouse division, public services, and airline division. International Brotherhood of Teamsters focuses on building power for blue collar workers and protecting the economic and social well-being of its members. UPS has had many contracts with Teamster nearly over hundreds of years. Teamsters are designed to protect employes. Focusing on desired wages, safe workplace conditions, job protection, and benefits.
Package and delivery drivers, freight and logistics workers, warehouse and supply chain staff, public service personnel, aviation and airline staff, construction and building material workers, and railroad workers participate in this community. Hard-working blue-collar men and women keeping the world going. The world we all know and love will stop to haul without these services and hard work. Local union officers, shop stewards, and union organizers are key organizational participants. Running regional charters and handling daily grievances.
Teamsters’ members, local chapters, and shop stewards use Apps like Union Strong, MyTeamCare, and most regional chapters manage their own dedicated apps. Union Strong has pushed secure alerts, organized shift communication, and published member stories without fear of retaliation. Bypassing corporate channels to provide secure, direct messaging between leadership and members. Union Strong is a cost-effective way for regional chapters to coordinate, organize, and push updates. MyTeamCare is a benefits-tracking platform including secure message center to connect directly to union benefit administrators. Union members use TeamCare to manage their healthcare, vision, dental, and short-term disability benefits.
Being a first time gardener Garden.org has provide plenty of information about starting a backyard garden. The National Gardening Association has home gardening guides, local clubs, or neighborhood community plots, and an extensive garden library. The primary purpose of Garden.org is to democratize agricultural knowledge through crowd-sourced, peer-to-peer education. You can upload pictures to identify unknown weeds, random crops, and mystery flowers. Find home remedy for pest control or even swapping seeds. Everyone can join Garden Association, however, mainly backyard hobbyists, plant collectors, and veteran horticulturists. Members use discussion forums to ask questions, discuss hybridizing, registry data, and cultivar characteristics.
Teamsters and Garden.org both support my personal growth. Even though Amazon does not have a union reading forums about other worker experiences and concerns. Give me an insight into how to better my coworkers and associates experience and work conditions. One day when I start my own fleet company I will understand the importance of workplace safety, work life balance and overall conducting my idea company to work for. With Garden.org I have successfully harvest tomatoes, peppers, grapes, cucumbers, beets, lettuce, watermelons, and corn. I am still learning and expanding my garden. Having support through the community gives me confidence and how to moving forward.
