1. Explain two beliefs common to the people or the community you researched. What do these mean to them?:
The community I interview believed in a great deal of thing but the two major things they believed in were God and The Bible. The church community believed god created the universe. During this process they believe it took 7 days and night for god to create earth. On the first day god created light, the second day god created the sky, the third day god created land, sea, plants and trees. On the fourth day the Sun and Moon were created, on the Fifth day creatures that lived in the water and sky were created. On the sixth day animals and humans were made and the final day god rested.
People talk to god and learn from god through the Bible and by praying. The bible was said to be written by Moses in 1,300 B.C. The Bible allows the community to connect to god and become more of a Christian.

2. Describe two rituals or behaviors that they engaged in. What do they mean to them?  What do these look like to outsiders: The community I interview and observed engages in two behaviors which include praying and baptizing. The community prays in order to talk to go or repent there sins. When they pray to God they usually thank him or ask God for protection and guidance.
In this community the priest usually host the baptizing. Baptism is done to remove a individuals original sin or other sins that the individuals have committed in the past.

  3. Explain something that seemed irrational or wrong when you first

started your research but now seems to make sense. How did your mind make sense of this nonsensical thing?: When I walked into the church and headed to the 3rd floor I saw children and adults. When the church assembly was ready everyone was given a purple liquid, including the children. At first I was confused on why they were giving children wine. I was completely shocked. Later on someone told me the children were just given grape juice instead.

4. Connect one discovery from your interviews to what you observed in your fieldwork. In the fieldwork I was studying I observed how they baptized people. They would dump the individuals head into the water and bring them right back up shortly after. I was shock to discover that children, as young as 2 years old participated in baptisms.

  5. Link one discovery from your social network or content analysis to

your fieldwork or interviews.: People in the area were talking about how they were going to pray in order to talk God, cure there illness and ask god to forgive the sins they committed. The amount of people talking about it had me curious so I decided to attend one myself. To my surprise I witness everyone holding each others hand while silent, simply praying to God.

  6. Were there any contradictions that you noticed in how your research

subjects thought or said and how they acted? How do you explain these contradictions?: During my research I saw no one being contradicting. Most of the people there were humble and civil people.

7. Describe in detail the most significant thing you discovered in your research that you would publish if you could.: I discovered that the church was extremely open to others opinions even if they disagreed with there views. Overall the church people were humble and Civil people.

  8. If you had the chance to do more anthropological research, what did

your research this semester make you want to study next?: I would want to study how business, peoples, workers and the government in general functions everyday.
