Hi Siva,
Backup is performed on regular basis using tools like Time Machine on Mac and Windows, and Scheduled tasks on Windows. In cloud backup, data is stored in the data centers. Data is encrypted before being stored in the cloud backup services provider and the decryption is performed when data is retrieved. To secure data, it is usually stored in the data centers and not on the customers' computers.(Zhang et al., 2017).
In case of Cloud storage, there are very limited chances of the data corruption or deletion due to fault mechanism. A cloud backup of your stored data can be restored at any time to the user. This is what makes it more reliable than the data stored in hard drives. Hard disk can have internal fault mechanisms and it may get corrupted. This can happen due to software defects, virus attack, improper maintenance, etc. In case of these factors the hard disk can become unusable and you will have to face an unfortunate situation in which you will not be able to retrieve the lost data.
In addition to storing media in the cloud, you can store it locally in your facility. The advantages of this option are that the media stays locally, can easily be accessed and backed up remotely, and media recovery takes less time. (Black, Moncada & Herstad, 2021).You do not need the cloud or an external server.
Complete backup stores the complete data in each backup. Differential backup creates an image of the files in the current version that have changed from the previous backup. An online backup of the data is done with the help of cloud providers. Cloud providers maintain a large amount of data and it is extremely easy to store data on the cloud due to high security and speed. Offline backups are done by taking external backup and it is also called the external backup. In one single process, you can save, store and recover multiple files at the same time.
