You will be writing on the topic at the bottom of this page.  Though this draft will not count as a grade, do your best, so I can best help you improve your writing this semester.

I do not give you parameters regarding length, structure, or content because I want to see how you respond without those kinds of directions.

You must follow all guidelines set forth in the Standards of Appearance for Written Work in the syllabus. In particular, the paper must be double spaced in a font of 12 (Times New Roman).

You must use a computer-generated header as noted in the Standards of Appearance for Written Work in your syllabus.

TIME YOURSELF; WRITE FOR ONLY ONE HOUR.  I must trust you will do this part since I don't have this in a timed folder.  Even if you feel you haven't addressed the prompt sufficiently, STOP after 60 minutes.

Submit to the drop box for the diagnostic essay under the DIAGNOSTIC box area . I won't be grading these essays, but you MUST submit that in order to do well on the first graded assignment.
