Based on the PowerPoint lectures, and the assigned readings, answer the discussion question below.

Be sure to use a citation style when you cite from the readings. Any standard citation style is appropriate, but I would suggest using a parenthetical citation and then short bibliography if you use outside sources (beyond the assigned textbooks - you do not need to use outside sources). If you use the textbooks, you can simply put for example "(Heywood, p. 9)" as a citation.

Discussion Question/Issue: Each of the ideologies we are studying this quarter have a "beast" that they wish to "destroy" (the condition they identify as wrong or harmful to human existence - What is the "beast" that socialism/marxism and nationalism identify? What is the alternative they propose to the "beast"? Do you agree with the ideology's perspective? Why or why not?
