Desalination plants in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a country in western Asia, located in the eastern part of the Red Sea.
The country is covered by large tracks of dry land stretching from Yemen to Persian Gulf
-Its dry land is said to have large Oil fields that provide a source of revenue for the country
-Water was a scarce resource and country depended on the Underground wells since there are no flowing rivers.
-The country embarked on a massive investment on desalination plants supported by both the Kingdom and the Private sector
-KSA boasts of being the largest producer of desalinated water in the entire. By 2011, the country had 27 desalination plants at 17 different locations producing 3.3million Liters of fresh water
