Scenario

Technology has revolutionized healthcare significantly in recent years. As technology continues to evolve, healthcare leaders are focused on ways in which new technologies can be leveraged to improve costs, access, and quality of care.

You are the associate consultant for a health quality management organization. Your organization advises health service providers on ways to improve quality and safety in the delivery of care. You have been asked by the senior consultant to conduct research on a new technology that has the capacity to positively impact healthcare delivery. Use your research to write an executive summary detailing your findings regarding the technology.

Examples of technologies that have the potential to change healthcare and its delivery include:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) –  choose a specific type of AI if you're going to go the route of AI like chat bots or IOMT. So choose a specific type of AI. Do not choose AI as your overarching as your your bottom line. Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)

We know that that could be super effective because that gives, that means that we can have one person that's really monitoring a few beds because we could, you know, have collect live information from the patients in a.Centralized area, maybe you're checking the heart rate, breathing patterns and oxygen saturation. All of these things are really important. And then they could send those to a central hub, typically a monitoring station or a control room where healthcare professionals will actually oversee and track those conditions and. They'll be able to intervene where necessary. They can alert that there's an intervention necessary.

3. Chatbots – virtual assistant, ask questions, monitor systems, provide preliminary support when humans unavailable, understaffed

4. Electronic underwear that prevents bedsores – garments designed with flexible electronic sensors women into the fabric. ( the sensors are the whole point).These sensors can track vital sigs, movement, and other health related data in real time. Used for continuous, non-invase monitoring of patients, both in hospitals and at home. Then there are wearables – body worn electronics i.e. applewatched, google watches, fitness bands – can connect with health information tech. and aid in diagnosis

Some of you will choose a technology that does span globally in terms of geography, but you can also choose something like, for instance, you could look at a home uterine monitor, activity monitor, for instance, and the person has another comorbidity, right?
