Product name: Recipe King

Context: The main purpose of our product is to provide recipes to users. With that being said, our application will have the capability to store information relating to the ingredients and condiments available to the user and then have the option to suggest user recipes based on the ingredients available. This can be done with the help of a sensor that can be bought, which will have to option to scan ingredients and condiments to record it in the app. The sensor will also have a function to display what the food should eventually look like in 3D. Other ways by which users can record these are by a special receipt scanner inbuilt within the app or through manual entry. Users will have the option to look what ingredients they have at home through the app (including quantity) which could also help them shop or know what they can make when they are not home.

A recipe will show all the ingredients needed to make the food, show all the steps required, and also have the ability to provide videos for ease of users.

The application will also have the option to provide other recipes while also suggesting what the user needs to buy in order to make that certain food. The app will also have a random recipe function which will give the user a random recipe if the user is feeling ‘adventurous’.

Once the user has seen a recipe, they will have the option to like, dislike, or add the recipe to favourites depending on the user’s preference. That information will be used by the app to provide recipes that will more likely to be used by the user. The app will record view counts as well regardless of users using the like or dislike options. Recipes added to favourites will be easily accessible by simply going to the favourites list in the menu.

The users will have the option to store in their health information (allergies, dietary etc.), so that the app can alert the user if a recipe has an ingredient which the user is allergic to, or if the recipe is very high in calories.

Users will have the ability to add a recipe to the app for themselves and/or for other users. And likewise, users will have the ability to get recipes from other users (if the other user sets their recipe to be visible to the user). Users will also have the option to rate other recipes (with a mandatory comment) so that other users will know if a recipe is good or bad and the reasoning behind it. (like Spotify)

The app will also have common functions like a filter which will help users get recipes quickly and effectively based on needs. The app will also have a search bar to find recipes very easily.

Audience:

As our application is a food app, any kind of audience from anywhere, can use it (as long as they are old enough to cook).
