I have to confess, when I was a young youth pastor, I thought parents got in the way of my ministry at times. I thought I knew their kids better than they did and that I was best equipped to help their youth grow spiritually. I was so far off! When I became a dad, and as my boys began to grow up, I realized no youth pastor could have more impact on them than I could. As I got older, I began to see parents as allies and then as the primary disciplers of their own children. I became a better youth minister then. I hope you will share some practical ideas this week from what you see in our books and presentation about how we can form a healthy partnership with parents, even parents who do not know Christ.
