Cryptography is a practice of hiding information and communications through the use of codes, crypt means hidden, Graph means writing, the practice of it is called cryptography. It’s unique because the hiding of information can be important, because you wouldn’t want that information to get out to the public. There are four standards 1. confidentiality the person who send and received the information can only understand the information. 2.Integrity information cannot be change without the person who sent it knowing . 3.Non-repudiation information or creators can’t deny the information. 4. Authentication sender and receive both know who sent the information. For example, when you use your credit card the credit cards companies know who the card belongs to, where the card is being used at. Many companies use cryptography methods, from hospitals, banks, and credit companies are some examples. Cryptography used rule-based calculations to send message hard to read. The algorithms used is design to create a cryptography key which control the digital signing and verification in order to protect internet privacy. There are many different types of algorithms that are used in cryptography depending on the information need to be sent. One example is single key encryption algorithms, the other one is public-key encryption algorithms.
