Discussion Board DUE Sunday 7/4 @3PM EST
DB 4 Classmate 2:
Identify solvable problems.
Most of the time it’s very important to make sure before you start you figure out if a particular problem is solvable. I feel it is important because the more you find the problems, if you don’t know how to solve them, it can be good to get help from the people that are able to help you solve them.
Determining goals: very important because if you don’t determine the goals for the clients it’s like you just working without knowing what the results will be or should be at the end. Knowing the goals it’s very important because you will be able to check the progress of you and the client.
Planning an intervention.
positive new behavior changes
Replacing negative with the positive is very great and it’s something that every therapist should be focusing on as that will give clients.
Maintaining: The counselors have to make sure that when they see the clients progression they try their best to make sure that they maintain the clients progression and not keep going up and down with the client.
Ending: with the clients ending session which is one of the hardest sessions you have to make sure all the clients have achieved their goals and make sure that they are well helped and on the right conditions.
List the five stages of belief counseling and give examples of each
1: Initial disclosure the main focus is the relationship building in this stage.
2: In-depth exploration: in this stage you will hone in on problem assessment
3: Commitment to action: in this stage we have to make sure that as counselors we are more focused on the problem, the client, the counseling process, and the overall goal.
4: Counseling intervention: in this stage as a client my main aim is to focus on summarizing the client's problem and Identify the strategy that I could follow to help my client and also to select and implement intervention.
5: Evaluation, termination, or referral: during this stage which sometimes could be hard when a client leaves the session but it still has to happen when a the client and the counselor have met the goals and mutually agreed on by the counselor and client have been achieved, or the problem has become more manageable or resolved.

REBT is grounded in the idea that people generally want to do well in life. With REBT it really helps the client to make sure that they are living the best life possible. “For example, you probably want to achieve your goals and find happiness. But sometimes, irrational thoughts and feelings get in the way. These beliefs can influence how you perceive circumstances and events — usually not for the better.” (Crystal Raypole September 14, 2018)
