1. Equality and equity are two different concepts in the area of fairness. Businesses often use both concepts. For example, many companies use equality when it comes to health benefits (everyone in the company gets the same, equal, health plan) and, at the same time, use equity for pay raises (pay raise amount or outcome is based on the input of each employee). Why do you think companies use different fairness concepts depending on the benefit or the compensation? Does this make sense? Is there a better way of distributing benefits and compensation?
