Final Project Milestone

After graduating from college, I would like to work at the Andrews Center in Texas. Before considering on which organization I want to work with, I did some research on the internet, and after seeing how professional Andrews Center’s website seemed, I thought it must have been a safe place to work, a place where professionalism is everything. Moreover, the center works on helping and offering hope to individuals who are living with mental disabilities, something that I love to do.

The other organization that I had considered working for is the Children’s Center located in Suffolk. However, I chose not to work with the organization because it is exclusively for children. I love taking care of the elderly and having conversations with them. Moreover, working solely with kids is too demanding as kids are more delicate than grownups. One more organization I considered working for is MYSI which is in Chicago. However, the geographical location of the organization was the main issue. I have never been to Chicago, and I have no friends there, unlike Texas where I have relatives living in Dallas. Furthermore, I looked up on Indeed.com and found that employees working in the company had given it a rating of 2.5 out of 5. That is a clear indication that the working conditions are not favorable.

Professionals working at Andrews Center ensure that their patients understand their challenges and assist them by caring for them. Employees at this facility have been trained in behavioral healthcare and are equipped to support patients and their family members in managing conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, IDD, and depression. Also, the facility has a wing which deals with children coping with ADHD and IDD.
