Data Protocol Rubric (200 Pts.) As the candidate, you will develop or select a data protocol that can be used to support staff in analyzing data and

determining next instructional steps. Candidates will write a summary that describes the protocol and why it was

developed/chosen, outlines details on how the protocol will be used and why you believe it will support staff in

analyzing data and moving to action with next instructional steps to increase student learning. Candidates will consider

what they have learned about professional learning communities and the importance of data analysis as well as research

on effective protocols. The purpose of this assignment is to help you consider how you might lead data discussions with

staff to ensure instruction improves/changes to support student learning. This assignment will demonstrate that you

understand the importance of:

• IIID: Principals hold all staff accountable for setting and achieving measurable student outcomes.

• Leadership for Accountability and Data Literacy (UCCS addition to standards for coursework)- Candidates identify and utilize appropriate data sources for use in monitoring student learning, assessing teaching, and improving program effectiveness. Candidates know how to assess what students know and are able to do; interpret data results accurately; and apply the results to improving instruction, learning, and school performance.
