1. The dark web is part of the internet, and it is not visible in search engines and needs the anonymizing browser to use known as Tor to access. The web is made up of hidden sites that one cannot find via a conventional search engine (Kacy Zurkus, 2018). The web use encryption software to offer anonymity for the users and also to hide their locations. One can access the dark web by downloading Tor which is the browser that opens the dark web. When one installs the browser on their device, it functions just like the usual browser.

2. This web is also used by criminals for illegal activities like forums, illegal trade, and media exchange for terrorists and pedophiles. Criminals use the dark web to sell and buy services and products that are illegal. These products can be the personal information of victims of data breaches or even illicit substances. The main reason why criminals use the dark web is because it provides an increased layer of protection.

3. Many things that benefit from relative privacy benefit from the dark web. The major use cases are for dissidents and journalists to communicate with one another or subjugate individuals to share their views without censorship. There is also less positive use. One of them is a personal story; the web provides a chance for people to share their own stories that are personal. Some of the abuse survivors can talk about their experiences, name their abusers, or even comfort their peers who would not be feeling comfortable to talk on their experience. Also, access to books can be restricted for various reasons, and the dark web provides many chances to read books.

4. It can be used by law enforcement to conduct a criminal investigation that involves dark web crimes. Private individuals can use the dark web for illegal activity, business activity, and so on.
