· This experiment is probably one of the most interesting I have seen, kind of funny to think about as it's also really unethical. What do you think that says about our individual characters? We tend to be fascinated by controversial topics, or bad news at times. You hear less of, "Did you hear *insert positive news story*", and more of, "Did you hear about the bridge collapse?".  Anyways, I feel as though his experiment was unethical, however it was not unethical at its core. The main flaw was its set up.  Multiple times throughout the experiment the prisoners had clearly reached their breaking point.  However, there were no safe words, per say, in place for a prisoner to say okay! I've had enough, get me out of here.  The prisoners had exclaimed they were through and not saved, and that is where this experiment crossed all lines.  This experiment revealed how positions of power can influence ones mind.  Everyone knew going into this experiment that these prisoners were not actual prisoners, and these guards were not actually guards. However, after 6 days the experiment had to be shut down because it had reached limits I do not believe Zombardo had ever expected it to.  These men, when left to their own devices,  became the roles they were playing and took power into their own hands, almost as if they had become power crazy, and abused the prisoners.  The scary part is that was not the intent of the experiment. They were meant to play guard, and the prisoners were meant to play prisoner.  Crazy how far off track they all ended up right?  It relates to what happened in the experiment because the guards whom had power over the social situation took it and ran. Since they were never told they were unable to do any of their committed acts they would continue to push the envelope. Furthermore, the prisoners eventually one by one began to have mental break downs.
