For a post to be substantial, it needs to genuinely add something new to the conversation.  I am sure you will have no trouble writing about your personal experiences or research findings you have made.

Network systems rely on the trust of other hosts that are connecting to the environment. This allows firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Protection Systems (IPS) to allow of flag traffic going through the wire.  I do agree that trustworthiness is essential and also agree that hardware and software can be engineered to act otherwise. Neumann explains and describes how human influence can affect a system provoking it to be unreliable and traitorous.

Neumann also implies the effects this brings with new developments in technology such as the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These technologies are meant to be connected to various systems not only to gather and share data but also for possible patching to improve usability and performance. Systems can be altered by people interaction during development or ownership and Neumann (2017) describes that at times this is difficult to detect due to the complexity of the system.

The evolution of technology has invited individuals to test their skills exploiting vulnerabilities, delivering malware through the lack of security in many enterprises. Also, the complexity of AI and IoT systems bring about a very unsettling and untrustworthy feeling towards newer technology. Frameworks and policies will need to be developed and put in place to reestablish security, safety, and trustworthiness.
