There are a great deal of values and beliefs that we, as Americans, live and stand by today like life, liberty, and even the pursuit of happiness. Nevertheless, these are all great there are some that stick out the most to me that I believe, cherish the most and that would be equal opportunity and freedom of speech.

The effect that the two have on Americans are very vital conversely both play major roles. Without the value of equal opportunity everything would fail from jobs to the system and even the government. Being able to have the equivalent amount of opportunity as the next person is imperative. Not being able to obtain a job because it does not agree with your specific ethnicity, religion, or even gender is discriminating. The justice system consequently law enforcement are the major occupations where equal opportunity is questionable with a lot of the current events going on today. That leads to my next American value which is freedom of speech the most important value that I believe Americans value the utmost.

In 2018, having freedom of speech is a factor that I realize that a lot of Americans cherish today. This form of opinion not only creates numerous different groups but allows Americans to come together and share their different views and principles of different matters. Protesting is not always respectable, but occasionally the outcome is worth the fight. Not being able to voice an opinion, would leave an individual feeling restrained or stuck because of not being heard. People practice freedom of speech in different ways. Protesting is one of the biggest ways people go about using freedom of speech.
