multicultural essay
Before one can characterize African Americans, and the various topics portrayed all through the writing, one should explore and gain an understanding of African Americans from a cultural standpoint. This information is critical to understanding the cultural values and customs which have been passed down throughout the generations. My culture is influenced by beliefs, values, traditions, language, and behaviors. I grew up in an upper-class nuclear family, meaning a two-parent household. Because of that, I was taught the importance of family, education, and respect for my parent's authority. My parent's instilled respect, love, humility, honesty, responsibility, and spirituality, which has provided me with a foundation as a source of protection, guidance, affection, and support.
