Current events paper

Current events paper (250 points):

Students will work individually to find an organizational

theory concept issue in the real-world. This can be in newspapers, film, television, books, etc. or

some format where everyone can obtain the same information about the issues (personal

experiences are not accepted). The issue must be analyzed using the theories and concepts

presented in the readings and in class. Additional academic journal sources should be used to

supplement the readings. Students will also have the option to work collaboratively on this

assignment with another student, but this increases the page count to 10-12 pages. Current event

papers are expected to be between 8-10 pages. A draft of the paper will be due on 11/15/20 but

will be accepted at any time during the semester. I will provide feedback on your draft, and your

final paper is due during finals week (December 8th). Students have the option to give a

presentation of the paper to the class for up to 5 extra credit points (due December 8

th

). A rubric

will be provided in D2L.
