This assignment is due Sunday, March 16 by 11:59pm. Prompt: Choose a current event (within the last 5 years) to write a short essay about in relation to our class. In your essay, explain: What the event is. Questions to consider: How did you find out about the event (which article/blog/ social media account, etc. are you pulling your info from)? Who is/was involved in the event? What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Why did it happen? How this event relates to our class. Questions to consider: Which reading(s) are you using to discuss the event? What is this reading about? How does it relate to the event -- are there certain concepts or examples from this reading that you can connect to the event or that can help us better understand the event? Your reaction to the event itself. Questions to consider: How do you feel about the event you chose? Why did you choose this specific event? How does the event affect you, if at all? How does the event impact the larger community/society/world?
