Cultural Relevance and Bias in Media The following health posters are actual materials created to address public health concerns of specific audiences. When analyzing these materials, keep in mind issues such as cultural relevance, health literacy, bias and stereotypes. Be prepared to discuss these materials with other students and answer the following questions: How culturally relevant is this message? Do the graphics/pictures convey the message without being stereotypical or biased, and present the population respectfully? Does the message convey sufficient information while considering those with low health literacy?
