Similarities and Differences between Pakistani and Iranian Culture

Thank you for inviting me to the cultural discussion. Being Pakistan, I have always remained concerned about my historical belongings, family background, and cultural associations. Pakistani culture is not new; instead, it shows strong roots from the ancient times when the subcontinent Pak-o-Hind was under Muslim kings' ruling. Pakistan was the first country constructed on the name of Islam and the base of Kalma (Islamic faith). The country shares a strong bond with its neighboring countries, such as Iran, Afghanistan, and China. The primary reason for this significant relation is the similarities and differences between their cultures. Thus, the present discussion is based on the similarities and differences between Pakistani and Iranian culture to better understand their overlapping identities.

I feel so proud of being part of this region, where we all speak Urdu and follow one religion, Islam. The best part of my culture is hospitality and kindness, due to which Pakistani people are famous all across the world. Compared to the Pakistani culture with Iranian culture, both share a lot of similarities and differences in practices. Iranian speaks the Persian language, which was once the official language of Pakistan in the 1950s. Also, both share the same religious beliefs and faith, due to which both neighboring countries enjoy a good relationship between them.

Iran's people's cultural belonging shares the historical spheres with the Armenians, Turkish, Georgian, and Afghan culture. This makes it a bit different from the Pakistani, who shows the South Asian and Indian sub-continent's strong influence. Most of the Iranians are Shi'a and establish a strong impact on the Iraqi's religious activities. On the contrary, most Pakistanis belong to the Sunni community but show great respect to the Shi'a and their religious beliefs. Despite few differences, the respect towards the cultural identities and cooperation as great neighboring develops a significant relationship between these two countries.
