The first assignment is a small research paper surveying a number of Operating Systems related topics as listed below:

4. Cosy Operating System

5. Hive Operating System

6. Operating System Security

7. Paramecium kernel

8. PEACE Operating system

9. Puma Operating System

10. Tornado operating System

11. RISC operating system

12. Hadoop

13. Blockchain

14. Neural Networks

15. Machine Learning/Deep Learning

Select one of the topics above and complete the following:

· Write a paper on your selected topic that is at least 5 pages long, fonts 11, single space

· sYou cannot copy any material from any source with the exception of diagrams, all written material must be your own words (i.e. read from many sources, write your own interpretation, no copy & paste is allowed, okay to copy diagrams with proper reference)

· Your paper should include an introduction, design philosophy, name of the main people involved if applicable (i.e. inventors/creators/designers), overall architecture, commercial information (e.g. what company, how much is the price if it is a commercial product, etc.), competitors, and all other relevant information you wish to include

· Provide references

· Bonus points: Best paper will receive 5 extra points for the course
