Critical Race Theory

Critical Race Theory by Delgado, R., and Stefancic depicts the relationship between the

conventional legal and scholarly norms and political struggles that require significant changes.

As I go through CRT, I realize a strong correlation between power and race; these two factors

derive the advantages that the whites enjoy over people of color, especially in the United States

of America. The racial power emanates from culture and, by law, solidifies the argument on the

ongoing problem where our society grants the whites more power making them feel more

superior, leading to discrimination and prejudice, especially against people of color. The authors

in the Critical Race Theory draw some relevant examples of small acts of racism that people like

me encounter in America. Notably, these acts of discrimination often happen and are commonly

referred to as microaggression. These microaggression acts often occur in train stations, schools,

healthcare centers, and many other public places in America. I agree with critical theorists that

the law should be a tool that promotes neutrality but has proven to be part of the problem that we

face since it shows some inadequacies of the conventional civil rights process. After critical

consideration, I agree that I am an idealist and a materialist because I have experienced and dealt

with racism firsthand, which allows me to draw my conclusions based on how we can root out

the bias in our society.

Notably, the Critical Race Theory highlights the primary examples of how small actions

of racism in society. It depicts a vast difference between a white kid and a black kid, and all

receive different treatment. Moreover, the theories contain significant activism acts and show

how the society has aligned itself into racial lines. Racial inequality arises from economic, legal,

and social differences created by the whites as an avenue to maintain and uphold their white

supremacist ideas to control politics and labor markets at the expense of the minority groups.

Lack of power, representation, and voice is the leading cause of intersectionality that

oversimplifies human experience and leads to identity judgment. After reading Critical Race

Theory, I can personally relate to the author's racism since I have encountered racial abuse in my

class. I come from a different ethnic background, and I am among the minority groups in the Us.

During our virtual learning, one of the students shouted that someone was smelling like garlic,

and to my surprise, everyone in the class was pointing at me. It got me thinking how society

judge people based on their place of origin; just because I am Indian does not mean I smell like

garlic. I have seen African-Americans being abused in class and on the streets because of their

color, which made me question the root of problems. As I reflect on what it means to be a

minority, I realize that there are many challenges that these people face daily, including lack of

equal opportunities and inferiority complex. Notably, our race affects our lives in ways that

sometimes we are not aware of. As an idealist, I understand that ending racism requires constant

changes geared toward universalism created at our early life stages.

Realist ideologies are the building blocks of the critical race theory that focuses on self-

realization philosophies without the concepts of racial identity. Delgado’s discussion focuses on

the rebranding of self-interest into collectiveness; his convergence theory provides remedies that

created the shift towards creating racialized blacks through the differentiation process. I believe

that racism can be eliminated by focusing on integration to eliminate bias from an early age.

Biasness happens from our homes; what children hear from their parents sets the principle on

how they will react to societal pressure and if they are going to judge people based on their color.

Despite the stipulation of equality in our laws, there is massive inequality in our education

system that promotes bias and racial radicalization. Most of these events happen in class without

even our knowledge, such as teachers snubbing students of color when they raise their hands to

answer questions.

Moreover, these behaviors breed and create a generation of privileged and

underprivileged children in society. It is essential to integrate fundamental principles starting

with the young to weed out biasness, and this aspect begins from our homes. Society has an idea

of perfection and tends to characterize races by ignoring preconceived personality traits, shared

physical features, and normalizing discrimination. Our homes can make a difference in

eliminating bias since it can be a breeding ground for intolerance and racial abuse. It is essential

to acknowledge CRT concepts that highlight how a person's understanding of race evolved

shaped by acts of political movements that define the current political and economic debates.

There is a trend in racial violence that depicts various acts of racism and their prevalence in

society. The disparity in our contemporary culture is shifting towards racial abuse to class

disparity, which has become a significant problem affecting service delivery in all aspects of the

economy. It is imperative to acknowledge the concepts of social constructs that show that races

often occur due to social relations and thoughts.

After considering other opinions, we need reparation for African Americans. Reparation

can be achieved through the award, non-repetition, and apology. Racial discrimination

profoundly affects the chances of everyday lives, especially for the minority groups in the US.

Most African Americans' plight is constrained subjected to racial, social stratification based on

the uniqueness of a minority culture subverting their rights and encourages prejudice in our

education system. The American dream has become an assumption to most people, especially

the minority groups, since the government has continuously ignored African Americans.

Reparation should come in the form of opportunities to better minority lives and address the

racial disparities in housing and healthcare. The government should repatriate the minority

groups to ensure equal opportunity for all the students in the United States. As a materialist, it is

essential to fund directly black neighborhoods and schools instead of integrating black children

into white communities and institutions. The government needs to focus more resources on areas

habited by minority groups. They should invest in the infrastructure and equip all learning

institutions to ensure that they provide quality education. The government should also initiate a

process that allows that racism is eliminated by adopting policies that educate people on diversity

and inclusion.

Student loans continue to become a primary concern for black college students. Most

black students have student loans compared to white students. It is likely for most African

American students to allocated unsubsidized loans, and students’ black students from

Predominantly institutions are given loans with higher interest rates. To repatriate close this

indiscrimination, it is essential for student loan forgiveness for enslaved black Americans.

Critical Race Theory is pessimistic since it holds that racism has been normalized and embedded

in society, changing the people’s relationship with one another. The notion of ordinary and

normalization of racism is reflected in the majority's interest instead of idealism or materialism.

CRT has become a force of practice that has transformed racial inequalities, which erodes the

belief that whatever happened in the past stays in the past.

The concepts of idealism and materialism can be built from principles of CRT practice

that recognize social constructs where race is not connected biologically but rather through social

through a social through. Racism has become a regular feature in society and is embedded within

most institutions, including the legal system, justice, and education systems. Notably, there is a

experiences should equate to compensation or adoption of idealism to fix the next generation,

which can be achieved by eliminating segregated schooling or a materialistic approach involving

bettering services in the black neighborhood. CRT identifies elements that depict the impacts of

racism on American life. It is essential to adopt ways of eliminating racial discrimination that

maintains each race's integrity and interest. CRT idealist focus on was that can help deconstruct

social prejudice and create a liberal society. Both idealistic and materialistic forces are necessary

for achieving tangible changes. To shift towards egalitarian terms, it is essential to racialize ideas

on cultural and material advances where blacks and blacks' interests converge.
