we have had so many issues with the USA trying to follow this noble idea! The research from "Food Loss and Waste" has shown that it spoils in transition, "This may be due to problems in harvesting, storage, packing, transport, infrastructure or market / price mechanisms, as well as institutional and legal frameworks."
I am old enough to remember, the many world tours with musicians were met with criticisms in the other countries. The food spoiled at the other countries' borders. It is tragic, because we have enough food for the world; however, not enough diplomacy!

While reading the section on environment/resource distribution, an idea crossed my mind regarding the connection between cultural conflict and the earth's environmental limits. This section states that the industrial world has been taking advantage of necessities, such as clean drinking water and food. I looked up information (in the link below) from the CDC, which claims that the United States has hit a low since beginning to record the birth rate. My thought is that multicultural relationships could be improved by developing a program to send overproduced foods that would go to waste anyway due to the decrease in our population to those in need. I know that there are nonprofit organizations that attempt this, but I am also aware of claims that they have highly paid CEOs and only a fraction of what people give reaches the needy. Do you think a good way to get around this would be to send available military ships and cargo planes with the supplies/food? This might even help with the fear and resentment that other cultures hold against our military. If I was running a country and saw another one utilizes their military to bring items that helped my people, it would certainly be a wonderful gesture that would make me want to work with them, not make an enemy. Even if this was short term, which I think it should be so that the countries involved could become self sufficient after a chance to make necessary changes to do so, I see it a great way to start a positive change in the world. Do you think this would help repair some damage politically?

According to the American School Food Service Association, "The food served in schools has to meet very specific federal guidelines, which are established by the US Department of Agriculture" (Casey, n.d.). Furthermore, the federal rules say that a school lunch can't provide more than 30% of a child's daily requirement of fat or 10% of saturated fat. Also, the lunch must provide at least one-third of the child's daily requirements of protein and vitamins. In some schools, parents are able to visit for lunch and become involved in school programs.
Parents are voicing their concerns with vending machines of soda and junk food offered in schools and are forcing changes as to what is offered in the machines. "More than 90% of high schools have vending machines. These high-fat, salty, or sugary snacks are everything we don't want students to substitute for real food. But they make money for the schools" (Casey, n.d.). Many school lunches appear bland and unappealing to the eye; however, they meet the standard and guidelines requirement by USDA.

I feel like people who take the time out to learn about one another and accept each other cultures we have these thoughts of what we should do to help one another but not everyone thinks like us. That is why we are here, we are trying to find ways to help society understand everyone isn't a "bad" guy but if we can set aside our difference and make the world understand this, then we can build trust outside the country. If we can learn to work on ourselves then we can learn to help others realize we aren't the bad guys either. So to basically answer your question I do believe if we fight hard enough then we can change a lot politically but this has to be done with ourselves first.
