Yes, the officer 's willingness to deceive should result in automatic certification revocation. The core value - based training curriculum and scenarios provide the rank and file with a clear understanding of the different levels of distinction associated with the truth telling in law enforcement and sent them that a breach of this policy, when severe enough could cost them their career. it is incumbent upon the leaders of profession to demand higher standard of character for all sworn members and especially regarding core values initiatives and policy compliance. expecting high standards of character cannot be taken for granted or implied. rather, those standard must be defined, discussed and supervised in order for the profession to thrive.

Two things that the law enforcement administrators should take into consideration as related to the officer's ethical behavior and willingness to deceive are: 1. An officer’s character and that is why core values training and vigilant supervisory reinforcement of character issues are critical to an agency’s future successes. 2.  The challenge today in policy compliance training (or core values training) is that many character policies are written in generalities, leaving them susceptible to arbitrary and subjective interpretations. More times than not, they're rarely defined, explained, or translated into real,  situations.
