Examine the concept of evidence-based corrections (EBC) in deterring individuals from committing initial crimes and reducing recidivism. Provide your opinion as to whether or not you believe EBC is effective. Support your response with one example of a time when EBC was used and was successful or was used and failed.

EBC the evidence based model uses empirical data to determine what works in correctional settings that is , which correctional programs are effective at meeting correctional goals, such as reducing recidivism and preventing future crimes. EBC uses ongoing, critical reviews of research literature to identify credible scientific evidence and involves rigorous quality assurance to ensure that evidence based practices are replicated with fidelity and that new practices are evaluated to determine their effectiveness
