Forensic science has been used for the past many years dating from the year 1892. Fingerprints have been used to identify persons and classify people. The patterns and characteristics are used to categorize and analyze fingerprints. Blood is classified into blood groups which helps to classify individuals. DNA test analysis has been developed in the 20th century which has helped in investigations to analyze and classify fingerprints. Forensics as a science has been used to legally protect victims as well as prosecute law breakers. Psychology, pathology and toxicology are forensic science fields of specialization. There exist four crime laboratories in the field of forensic science which are: drug enforcement agency (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), postal inspection services of the United States, and finally the Bureau of tobacco, alcohol, explosives and firearms.
Changes in the field of forensics has influenced positively the processes of the criminal investigation over time. The scientific changes have provided scientific information and evidence via physical status analysis. All the evidence physically collected in the scenes of crime are analyzed in laboratories as provided by forensic science (Buckleton.et.al, 2016). The lab results are presented before the judicial criminal systems or courts to act as proof or evidence to evict criminals or suspects. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), postal inspection services of the United States, and the Bureau of tobacco, alcohol, explosives and firearms use lab results to present evidence before the court. Advancements have been made to make this happen. For example, hair traces collected at scene crimes can be used in laboratory investigations nowadays to detect criminals or law offenders.
Crime scene investigation as a science has been utilized to legitimately secure exploited people just as arraign criminals. Brain science, pathology and toxicology are scientific science fields of specialization (Cooper, 2016). DNA test examination has been created in the twentieth century which has encouraged in examinations to dissect and characterize fingerprints. Anthropology can be used to examine and discover the bone fragments tests which can be used as evidence. Electronic based evidence observed from devices such as mobile phones, computers, cameras, other electronic devices can be used provide evidences. Code breaking provides evidence in form of coded and encrypted data and information that helps understand provided evidence.
The four major evidence testing processes based on laboratory investigations are critical and important in the field of forensics. DNA tests carried out are provided in court of law as evidence and can be used to try law offenders. All the proof physically gathered in the locations of wrongdoing are investigated in research centers as given by measurable science (Cressey, 2015). The lab results are introduced before the legal criminal frameworks or courts to go about as verification or proof to expel lawbreakers or suspects.
Code breaking provides evidence in form of coded and encrypted data and information that helps understand provided evidence. The codes are digitally analyzed to understand criminal activities by individuals and terrorists.
Electronic based evidence observed from devices such as mobile phones, computers, cameras, other electronic devices can be used provide evidences. The evidence on moving witnesses, criminals and other law offenders are monitored to forensically tell and trace their movements. The devices can be used to provide evidence especially when the criminals move to crime scenes or to communicate to other suspects maybe tending to hide evidence. The activities can be used to arrest and prosecute the law offenders. Online trials can also be conducted through the electronic based evidence forensics.
Anthropology can be used to examine and discover the bone fragments tests which can be used as evidence. The tests are conducted on the bone and bone marrows in order to detect gender, age or ethnicity of unknown victims (Gudjonsson & Haward, 2016). X-ray tests are run forensically on the victims’ bones to identify missing people via anthropological tests. The tests are used to arrest law offenders and presenting them in courts of law to evict them.
Evidence provided through the four scientific methods above are used to provide clearer proofs about criminal activities. According to law, the above ways are accepted and information protected to prosecute law offenders.
