crj106final.docx

For the first two questions- You will need to choose a theory/philosophy for the first question, and then choose a different one for the second question. Here are the five theories/philosophies to choose from:

· Retribution

· Rehabilitation

· Restorative Justice

· Incapacitation

· Deterrence

You need to be able to explain the theory/philosophy and correctly apply it to each of the questions and how it relates to the book, Mother California. You will want to revisit some of the content you learned earlier in the semester. Integrate as much of the course content (video, articles, books, the textbook) as possible. Use it to support your arguments and provide examples. The more evidence that you can provide that you read the book, did the course readings, and understand the material, the stronger your answers will be.

· Make sure to integrate the material using your own words and cite your sources.

· Do not use quotes in this exam, you need to synthesize the information and put it in your own words.

For the third question-  Please provide specific examples on how your views and attitudes of corrections have changed throughout this course. The Correctional Attitudes Survey might be a good tool to help you think of what changes you have experienced since the beginning of this course. You can reference certain topics, assignments, videos, ect, that contributed to these changes, but you need to explain how and why they influenced you. If you feel like you like your views and attitudes did not change, you still need to explain why they didn’t change.

If you do not integrate course materials into your exam and if you do not cite your sources, it is likely that you will not pass this exam.

· Integrate as much of the course content (video, articles, books, the textbook) as possible. Make sure to cite your sources.

· Integrate material does not mean copy and paste. You need to reword the material in your own words and explain it in your own words.

· Do not use quotes, you need to reword the material in your own words.

Cite your sources!  When you use information that you learned from somewhere (article, video, book, textbook, ect) then you need to use proper in text citations. If you do not know how to cite your sources using in text ciations, please set up an appointment to come see me this week! Here are some resources for how to use in text ciations:
