This last photo is used because it reaches another branch of viewers and potential donoers; animal lovers. Reminding people that rescue teams do more than rescue property and people can give the extra push it takes to gain a following/donation/like. Using the emotion of this photo grabs the attention and the heartstrings of the viewers.

I chose this photo because it shows a side of emergency rescue that might not always come to mind at first. Most people think of fires, police, car crashes, and storm emergencies. A lot of individuals do not think about the water emergencies that leave people stranded or close to drowning. The orange also serves as an attention getter and is a big contrast from the white background.

The second photo made the cut because this is more familiar to the audience. You can see the wildfire and feel the exhaustion of the fighters through the image. This engages a sense of compassion or sympathy from the readers which is helpful when promoting a nonprofit. Also, the yellow of the suites and the intensity of the first grabs the attention of the audience.

When You Need a Hand

This picture made my final cut because it has that extra strike of emotion that will hit the audience where it matters. From the small kitten, the lifeless mother, and the exhaustion and worry in the firefighters face we can spark interest from any type of viewer. The colors may not have been as intense as some of the other images, but the contrast of the blue and yellow works well. Also, the blue and the gray of the cats complement each other.
