Is this conflict resolved? Explain.
5. SUMMARY
Write a summary of the story, relying on major details. Avoid starting with phrases such as “This story is about…”
Example: The unnamed narrator lives at a cottage and spends her time closed up in one room of the house.
6. TEXTUAL SUPPORT
Compile a list of pivotal quotes that complement the details.
Example: “I don't like our room a bit. I wanted one downstairs that opened on the piazza and had roses all over the window, and such pretty old-fashioned chintz hangings! but John would not hear of it” (648).
7. Write a paragraph that describes your overall impression of the story.
