Criteria for Agency Presentation & Report

Presentation

This 7 to 10-minute oral presentation should include the following:

Part I: Organizational Structure

I want to better understand the logistics of your Fieldwork site, including the primary focus and structure. Topics to address include:

· The Mission of your Agency, including the purpose, goals, &/or objectives

· The different areas &/or departments within the Agency

· The level of management overseeing those areas

· Where you, as a volunteer, fall within that structure.

These topics may be presented through:

(a) An Organizational Chart already created by your Agency.

~ OR ~

(b) A Chart of your own design, based upon factual information gathered from reliable sources.

Part II: Community Resources

Considering the population that your Agency focuses on serving, how does the surrounding community help or hinder their mission? Topics to address include:

· Nearby organizations, programs, &/or services that might benefit the clients at your Agency.

· Available transportation options (bus, train, parking, etc.)

· Level of neighborhood safety.

These topics should be presented through:

(a) A chart or map of the surrounding community, highlighting the local resources

~ AND ~

(b) A brief description (i.e. name & purpose) of each.

Part III: Personal Experience

I want to hear your thoughts & opinions about the time you spent at your Agency, as well as a self-evaluation of how you think this experience has affected you (whether positively or negatively). Topics to address include:

**Please only choose two of these bullet points to talk about in your presentation**

· How the experience did/did not foster self-growth.

· New insight gained about yourself/your goals from this experience?

· Any skills, contacts, or practical knowledge gained which will be useful in the future.

· How this experience met/failed to meet your expectations.

· Recommendations for improvement at the Site.

· Would you recommend this site to future Field Work students? Why/Why not?

Please make sure to cite where you are finding all of your information on a reference slide at the end (in APA Style).  You have to give those people credit for doing the legwork!

Agency Report

This 3 to 5-page document (minimum 3 full pages & maximum 5 pages, double-spaced, 12pt, TNR) should be a written overview of the topics addressed in Part III of your Presentation. This Report is due on December 6th and should be turned in to me via Canvas.
