· Choose a topic from the list

· What type of patterns does this crime follow? Does it follow any? Why? Or why not?

· How has this crime changed over time? (think of advancements in weapons, detection, etc)

· Find a current event (within the last 5 years) of your crime type and add to the paper, e.g. if you do school shootings you could add in Santa Fe High School.

· Type of victims of for the particular crime, e.g. white collar crime victims are middle/upper class, not the typical lower class victims of crime

· Type of offenders e.g. if serial killers, do they have antisocial personality, history of abuse, violence, etc.

· Appropriate theory of violence for your crime

· Advances in technology that help detect this crime/improvements in apprehension (e.g. DNA, profiling unit at the FBI, stiffer penalties for white collar criminals, etc)
