Frank Timmons is a 56-year-old male, a criminal suspect, who was referred for criminal psychology evaluation to determine his likeliness of committing the said charges (serial murderer) of criminal activities, to determine his current emotional status, his current cognitive, and his state of mind to stand trial. This report presents an unprejudiced and unbiased view and evaluation of the matter. This criminal psychologist evaluation is free of any influence and has been done accurately, appropriately, systematically, following all legal protocols, and to the best of the expert's knowledge.
Case summary
Frank has a long history of criminal engagements since his early 20s. Some of the frank's criminal activities include rape, murders, abduction, causing injuries to people, theft, and molesting. His first case, though it went unpunished, was about raping a young woman together with his brother. Later on, he was charged with trespassing, and a year later, he was also in the books for driving under the influence.
In another case, Frank was charged with abduction, bludgeoning, and brutal raping of a woman. This case sent her to prison for thirteen years against the total thirty-six years to which he was sentenced. Years after his release from prison, he was accused of child molesting behind a church in the area they were staying, and a month later, he committed his first murder. He went on to commit many other cases in a gap of eleven months. He committed offenses relating to sexual assault, robbery, as well as killing a ridiculous number of eight people. Most of his friends, family members, workmates, and neighbors do not believe how such a good man might have committed such high-profile cases, and they think that the man has only be framed into false offenses to put him behind bars.
This criminal evaluation seeks to prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether Frank is the offender of the mentioned criminal activities, the ability of the accused to understand the charges rose against him and whether he is in a state to stand the relevant trial. Therefore, the evaluation will answer the question of whether he is the offender; he is in a good mind and emotional state. The study will seek to prove the null hypothesis that; Frank, the information available does not show that there is a potential motivation for Frank to commit the said crime.
Crime assessment
In this part, we made a comparison of Frank's case with another case of serial murder by the name Aileen Wuornos. The purpose of this comparison is to evaluate whether relevant inferences can be made from the two cases. Aileen was born in February 1956 and died in the year 2002. She was a serial murder in the United States and also a sex worker. In her life, she murdered seven men between 1989 and 1990 by gun-shooting them. She claimed that she killed the men for attempting to rape or raping her. She argued that she committed such crimes for her self-defense. Her father was incarcerated when Aileen was young for raping a young girl. This made her develop a negative attitude towards men. She also underwent a series of mistreatments from her grandfather, which worsened her negativity towards the opposite gender. Aileen was born to an irresponsible mother who never took good care of her after the imprisonment of her father. Aileen's father committed suicide by hanging himself in prison after he was found guilty of raping small children. Aileen began abusing drugs at her young age. She reported that her grandfather sexually and physically assaulted her, and she was even impregnated by one of her grandfather's friends. She later dropped out of school. When she was eighteen years, Aileen was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She got married to a yacht club president. In another case, Aileen was arrested for car theft and resting to be arrested. In a later year, she was charged with killing a good number of people. She was later was found guilty of being a serial murderer, and she was given a death sentence. She was later executed, and her body was cremated.
The two cases have many similarities. Both Aileen and Frank have committed a long list of crimes before being convicted of murder. The following conclusions can be made from the comparison of the two cases and the motivations that the offenders had to commit their respective crimes:
· Both Aileen and Frank had family-related issues that could have led to their antisocial behavior.
· People can develop a negative attitude towards a particular gender, and that negativity can make them engage in antisocial and criminal activities towards that particular gender.
· Family-related issues could have led Frank to commit crimes.
· Alcoholism and drug abuse played a role in making Frank develop antisocial behavior.
· Failure to complete his education made frank to engage in criminal activities. Both Frank and Aileen dropped out of school.
Criminal Profile
Name of the suspect: Frank Timmons
Year of birth: 1964
Chronological age: 56 years
Parents: Billy and Loretta
Gender: Male
Number of siblings: 12
Geographical location: Ohio City
Motivation factors to Frank’s behavior
There are a number of different biological factors that could have impacted the behavior of Frank Timmons. One of the most potent biological factors is the genetic factor. Frank's antisocial behavior could be genetically inherited from his family. Timmons's family or household had tendencies of a psychopath. His father was abusive and assaultive, while his mother neglected them before she died. The elder sister also abused and neglected Frank and the other siblings. This behavior could have been a result of genetic factors. Biological theories indicate that it is possible for some people to be born criminals (Anderson, 2019).
Development issues and social learning also can contribute to a certain behavior of individuals (Fox, 2017). There are some development factors that also could have contributed to Frank's criminal behavior. One of these factors could be the failure to complete education. Lack of education could have led to hopelessness in Frank, causing him to develop psychopathy issues. Another development issue could be being subjected to problems at a tender age.
The environment where someone is raised can also affect his/her behavior (Andresen, 2019). One of the environmental factors that might have impacted Frank Timmons's behavior is being raised in an alcoholic environment. His parents were alcoholics and drug abusers. Another issue is being raised in an abusive environment. He was raised in an environment where abusing and assaulting one another was no issue. This could have weakened Frank's emotional conscience toward other people.
Conclusion and investigative use
This criminal psychological evaluation comes to the conclusion that there is a high possibility that Frank Timmons, suspect of serial murders, is guilty of being a serial murderer. Frank. The reason why friends, family, and neighbors of Frank think that he is innocent is the fact that he has cunning behavior, and he has learned to tricky everyone around him. From all the information available and the evaluation, it can be concluded that Frank is a dangerous person, and he should be prosecuted for being a serial murder. He is indeed a threat and danger to society.
The psychological evaluation precisely predicts that the antisocial behavior of the offender will become worse with time. His criminal activities have been intensifying with time, meaning that it will intensify more if he continues to live. Not even a jail-term sentence will change the behavior of the convicted person.
There are several strategies that can be done to check future criminal behavior. One of those strategies is giving life sentences to convicts or alternatively sentencing the criminals to death. This will ensure that those criminals will not have a chance to commit other crimes in the future.
Data limitations
In developing this report, there were many challenges of data limitations. Some important data was missing, which could have been useful in evaluating this case. Information about where the murders happened and where the suspected was staying at the time of the criminal activities was not provided. This information would have helped to evaluate the linkage between the convict and the crime scene. The report would have been more precise and accurate if all the relevant information was available.
