Criminal Justice Data Analysis
I have decided to choose the criminal justice topic and I will analyze the data from 2006 to 2015 of the number of people who have been arrested for drug possession. This area interests me because it affects young people of color who are sometimes affected by unfair treatment by law enforcement and hope to see improvement. This data shows that the number on a downward trajectory from between 2006 and 2015 with slight increases of between 4% and 8% in between. In my prediction, there will be a slight increase in the cases in 2016 by at least 4% and then a sharp decrease in 2017 and 2018 by 14% and 18% respectively (Harry and Albanese 20). This translates to around 833, 622 new cases in 2016, 716, 915 cases in 2017 and 587, 871 cases in 2018. In my analysis, I hope to see cases of people arrested for drug possession decrease over the years to as minimal as possible. This is an indication that an effort towards a drug-free society is bearing fruits and it is likely that the scenario will improve in the coming years.

Every family must always plan for their grocery budget in order to buy groceries that can last them either for a week or a month depending on the budget they set aside for such and the number of persons constituting that family. In most cases, families always have to work with a tight budget to feed the family while still not compromising on the quality of food available to the family (Pinard et al., 2016). I believe that it is possible to eat healthfully on a budget of 150 dollars a week, however, this needs proper planning. Assuming that I have to work with a budget of $150 to feed a family of four, which is the moderate- cost healthy plan in the US, this is my list of groceries I would purchase for the family to meet not only their dietary demands but also put into account the money I have to operate with.
Grocery List Cost Per Item ($) No. Of Items Bought
I. Cereals 2.98 per box 4 boxes 8.94
II. Eggs 3.00 per dozen 4 dozens 12
III. Bananas 1.75 per bunch 3 bunches
IV. Cheese 7.70 per brick 2 bricks
V. Peanut butter 35 per can 1 can 35
VI. Red Potatoes 6 per 100 pound sack 1 100 pound sack 6
VII. Cocoa Powder 6.75 per tin 1 large tin
VIII. Crashed tomatoes 2 per can 2 cans
IX. Chicken breast 3.30 per pack 1 large family packs
X. Jarred garlic 15 per jar 1 jar
XI. Tomato sauce 2.75 per can 1 can
XII. Milk 3.5 per gallon 2 gallons 7
XIII. Apples 4.0 per kilo 2 kilograms 8
XIV. Grapes 2.0 per kilo 1 kilograms
XV. Ground beef 3.50 per kilo 1 kilograms
XVI. Steak beef 4.0 per kilo 1 kilograms
XVII. Boxed Mac and Cheese 1.99 per box 2 boxes
XVIII. Broccoli 1 per stalk 2 stalks
XIX. Carrots 1 per pound 2 pounds
The above grocery list amounts to $149.85, which is only $0.15 cents shy of the budget that is available to me for the family’s grocery budget. The above grocery list is a testimony that indeed with proper planning then one can shop for a healthy dietary grocery for a whole week with low budgets as the $150 dollars I had in the scenario above (Munene, O. N. 2016).
