CREATE YOUR OWN CULTURE:

Must be 1,000 words minimum. You will create a culture (make it up; use your imagination!) that includes everything in the humanities: architecture, philosophy, literature (fiction and poetry), music, visual arts (paintings and sculpture) and religion. You must explore and explain all the elements of this “culture” and why these things are important to the people of this society. Create/design buildings, tell what they look like, and what they are used for. Create deities and a belief system, including the rituals of that belief system. What musical instruments do they have? What style is their music and what is it about? What art forms do they have, and what are the themes explored in their art? What do their writers tell stories about? What is their poetry like? Make up names for people, places and things. Create a world of humanities with an eye toward teaching someone about this culture. (Note: This is NOT a report on an existing culture or country!)

Format must be standard academic style: 12-point Times New Roman typeface, double-spaced. Header in upper left corner (first page only): Name of paper, your name, date, and word count, HUM2020, my name. Works Cited page, with proper citations, preferably MLA style.
