Week Six Discussion: Simya Levine
An interview is the best way an employer can gather as much information about a potential employee in a short period of time. However, when interviewing a potential candidate it’s important to ask the right questions to narrow the list of potential employees. Furthermore, employers want to ask candidates the best questions to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Ten questions I would ask a potential employee to make my hiring decision is
1. Tell me something about yourself that isn’t on your resume
2. Why do you want to work here?
3. What are your greatest weaknesses?
4. What are your greatest strengths?
5. How do you deal with tight deadlines?
6. Tell me about a difficult work situation and how you overcame it?
7. What do you know about our company, and what skills can you bring to this position?
8. Where do you see yourself in five years?
9. Why are you leaving your current job?
10. How would your colleagues describe you?
11. Name a work accomplishment that makes you proud?
