Employee flexibility:

Be flexible to employees at this situation. This is very non-judgmental situation where no one can force anyone to complete their tasks. It is a better way to communicate with workers and if possible, let them work from home. Listening and discussing with them is the key to handle things at this situation. If anyone wants help to change the setup of their work location that should be taken care of. When we don’t know when this critical situation is going to come to an end its always good to have flexible work place rules to have the tasks completed. (Crist, 2020)

If the companies are not ready you should ask your employees to telecommute. Companies which allow to work remotely will have implicit knowledge, planning and infrastructure to rapidly transform into remote operations if necessary. (Hudecheck, Sirén, Grichnik & Wincent, 2020)

Limit exposure at work:

Employees should make sure they are extra cautious and take proper precautions to keep everyone safe. Should maintain proper hygiene and wash hands regularly. Maintain social distancing between employees while interacting should maintain a six feet distance. Frequently sanitize the mostly used places like phones, door knobs, desks etc. (Crist, 2020)

Stay up to date:

As scientists learning more about this COVID-19 virus they are publishing new measures and journals like New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. These articles explain more about how to quarantine, possible methods of treatments. They recommend the patients to explain their own situation clearly to doctors as everyday a new symptom is getting developed. Company HR staff has to send out this important information out to workers so that they will be aware. (Crist, 2020)

Managing operations creatively is one of the best ways to respond to COVID-19. Organizations should create teams internally and externally to focus on developing ideas which could give faster results in short span of time. Stanford Health Care developed a creative way of testing by doing so, which is treating the patients remotely by drive-through testing. This will give results minimum of 15 minutes. (Nembhard, Burns, & Shortell, 2020)

Any Organization cannot face this situation alone. This COVID-19 made the organizations reach out to different geographies and crossed organizational borders to get a solution and form a effective team. Management Research has suggested to collaborate with other partners to face with critical situation collectively which plays a crucial role to maintain their revenues. (Nembhard et al., 2020)
