Should drinking water be privatized?

Abstract

This essay is about the way that water and other essentials for life have been commodified and privatized in the system that we live in today. The industrial revolution and capitalism have brought about great progress and success in many countries, however, these innovations often come with great downfalls as well. Greed has caused things that are necessary to become for a profit motive. As a result, only people who can afford these commodities can obtain them and in the case of something as essential for human existence as water, many people lose their lives every year for not having access to clean drinking water.
