This participation was the first spark that ignited my passion for broadcasting. I enrolled in a TV/Radio Broadcasting vocational program at neighboring Plymouth High School my senior year, which furthered my determination to pursue a career in broadcasting. I explored the radio industry as an employee of Kankakee Valley Broadcasting in high school. I worked for the radio station, WKVI, as a sports engineer where I gained technical experience, but realized my desired career path was with film and television.

At UNIVERSITY NAME I have gained valuable experience in film, editing, and on-air commentary. I came to college to continue my volleyball career as a collegiate athlete. My athletic director encouraged me to join Panther News Network, our school’s broadcast team. As an employee, I immediately began commentating athletic events, operating cameras, conducting interviews with players, and editing footage. In addition, I am a member of the Honors College, a senator for Student Government, and a member of the American Sign Language Club. These extracurricular activities demonstrate my motivation and dedication to my education and are proof of my time management skills. I believe my experiences would be an asset to your news department.
