COURT PROJECT

What to do:

Attend four hours of criminal or civil court, not traffic court. Local Courts are:

Ventura County Government Center (800 Victoria Ave, Ventura)

Los Angeles County Superior Court (210 W. Temple St. LA)

Los Angeles County Superior Court (14400 Erwin Street Mall, Van Nuys)

You may also attend any criminal or civil court in an area near you.

You must attend four hours of court total – you may stay for four hours in one court, or spread your time over as any court sessions as necessary. For EACH court day you attend fill out the attached Criminal Trial Report form with all the information requested. So, if you attend just one court for four hours, you turn in one form. If you attend two courts for two hours each you turn in two forms.

Please be sure to dress and act appropriately for court as discussed in class. Remember you will be subject to search and will have to go through metal detectors. If you are having trouble finding a court to attend, ask a bailiff or the information desk officer for help, they will be able to direct you to a court.

No late reports will be accepted. This project is worth 100 pts.

Any questions or concerns contact me ASAP.
