Assessment Task 2: Summative assessment of Nursing practice
Goal: The purpose of this summative assessment is for you to demonstrate completion of your allocated placement for this course and meeting competency at a satisfactory standard based on the Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
Product: Completed nursing practice hours and Summative ANSAT Tool
Format: The clinical facilitator will finalise the ANSAT tool including assessment of your competency in all standards and completion of the required hours. If a learning contract was required, all standards must be passed at a satisfactory standard to pass the course. The facilitator will discuss the deliberations with you and you will have the opportunity to provide comment on the tool. This will submitted to the course coordinator for final judgment. Ultimate accountability for assessing students in relation to clinical practice (WIL) resides with the course coordinator and grades are finalized through the USC assessment policy and procedures.

6.3 Additional assessment requirements
Limited Graded Course:
This course will be graded as Pass in a Limited Grade Course (PU) or Fail in a Limited Grade Course (UF) as per clause 4.1.3 and 4.1.4 of the Grades and Grade Point Average (GPA) - Institutional Operating Policy of the University of the Sunshine Coast.
In a course using Limited Grades, all assessment tasks relating to a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activity or a professional competency (PC) task are required to be passed for a student to successfully complete the course. Supplementary assessment is not available in courses using Limited Grades.

8.3 Specific requirements
Please familiarise yourself with the Clinical Placement Fact Sheets available through the link in your blackboard site. It contains all the information and procedures which guide the conduct of your work integrated learning experience in this course.
Please note your Summative ANSAT Tool will not be finalised until you have completed the allocated hours for this course. If you are unable to attend any hours you will be required to make these up. Your grade for the course will not be finalised until all requirements are satisfactorily completed.
You are required to wear the USC nursing/midwifery student uniform to clinical placement. You may need to travel to placement and you will need to cover these costs.
9. Risk management
This course involves placement in a health facility and as such there will be risks that are expected to occur in the practice of nursing in health facility. You will be required to attend an orientation at the facility.
It is your responsibility as a student to review course material, search online, discuss with lecturers and peers, and understand the health and safety risks associated with your specific course of study. It is also your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the University’s general health and safety principles by reviewing the online Health Safety and Wellbeing training module for students, and following the instructions of the University staff.
