Week 4 Understanding the Problem and Creating Direction
Post your initial response. The Capstone Project – Proposal Track – Strategies and Initiatives for Solving the Problem, Intended Outcomes Consider:
Thoroughly describe how you intend to solve the problem. Why did you choose the strategies or initiatives you intend to deploy? What have you learned from the literature that supports the actions you intend to take or the need for your products and services? What are the specific and measurable outcomes you intend by implementing your project? How will people benefit by what you have to offer? Be specific detailed with your outcome measures.
The Capstone Project – Research Paper Track – Purpose/Significance, Research Questions (1–2) Consider:
Whereas introductions focus on the problem leading to the study, the purpose statement establishes the direction for the research. In fact, the purpose statement is the most important statement in an entire research study. It orients the reader to the central intent of the study, and from it, all other aspects of the research follow. In other words, the purpose statement indicates why you want to do the study and what you intend to accomplish and is the central, controlling idea in a study. Identify at least one, but no more than two, research questions. The research questions will guide and shape the rest of your paper. Specifically connect the research questions to the problem statement (in Chapter 2) by elaborating on how you think the two are related.
